What is a Book Box?

Our reading helpers are equipped with an ARCh Book Box containing a variety of excellent books and games to use with children who are struggling with their reading. There are many reasons why they may be struggling and the support of an interested adult who will listen and visit them twice a week for the whole school year really does make a difference to these children’s lives.

Sponsorship

To help run this service we are offering a book box sponsorship scheme, starting at £50 a year.

Each Book Box contains at least 30 books and five games including picture books, chapter books, quiz books and plays as well as a dictionary and an atlas and costs approximately £300 to resource.

The children really do enjoy looking through and choosing something from the Book Box, knowing that they will find something interesting and fun to share with their ARCh reading helper.

To thank you for your kindness in helping change children’s lives in this way, your name will be displayed on one of our book boxes, so that teachers, parents and indeed pupils can see who has supported these children become confident readers.

We will also publicise your support through our newsletter which is sent to all our volunteers and supporters.
